Wellness Wednesday: Meditation Benefits - Stress Reduction
The reduction of stress is one of the more common reasons why people get into meditation.
Usually, physical and mental stress cause increased levels of cortisol, a common stress hormone we talk about here, one that CBD can help reduce. This produces many of the harmful effects of stress, one being the release of cytokines, inflammation creating chemicals.
These effects can alter sleep patterns, promote depression and anxiety, negatively impact blood pressure and contribute to fatigue and cloudy thinking.
Research has shown that meditation may also improve symptoms of stress-related conditions, including irritable bowel syndrome, post-traumatic stress disorder and fibromyalgia.
